CHATEAU TOUR DE RISSAC
LOCATION :
Château Tour de Rissac is located in the Hameau de Caunettes Basses in the commune of Moussoulens, 14 km northwest of Carcassonne
The domaine covers almost 75 ha in a single block, including 46 ha of vines and 1.5 ha of truffle oaks.
STORY :
In the past, Chateau TOUR DE RISSAC had its own community and an elected consul until 1790.
The history of this estate began in 1453, with the seigneury of the "maison des Voisins" traces of which can still be seen today in the coat of arms at the entrance to our vault.
TERROIR :
The distinctive features of the farm are its medium drainage slopes. Facing south and south-east, they provide a gradual amount of sunshine in the mornings, giving the vineyards of the gentle ripening of the grapes. The Ventenac limestone geological formation, which is clayey in nature and more or less covered with flat, white stones, makes up all of the estate's soils. A soil that provides a very good water supply in the summer. The plots at the bottom of the estate are mainly composed of alluvial deposits from the Fresquel, which will provide fresh and delicious wines
