Château Deumie – AOP Cabardès – 2021

"A flattering nose of fruit (blackcurrant, raspberry) and garrigue. The purity of the fruit explodes on the palate, which is voluptuous, concentrated and firmly structured by fine tannins, which may be imposing but are perfectly ripe. The silky texture and length are those of great wines. All in all, this is an accomplished Cabardès, both lush and well-suited to ageing if you can resist the insolent charm of its youth.

Terroir : Oyster marl and Ventenac lacustrine limestone make up the terroir of the estate.
On the crests of the pechs (Pech Dur and Pech des Joies) the Ventenac limestones lie in concordance on grey marls which locally contain small levels of sandstone limestones with oyster beds.

Winemaking : Mechanical harvesting, de-stemming. Traditional vinification in concrete vats with long maceration for optimum extraction.

Élevage : A short maturing period in barrel.

Tasting note

garnet robe

The nose offers up aromas of jammy fruit and plum, followed by incense and cedar.

Full-bodied and opulent on the palate, with candied fruit aromas and a fine tannic structure.
